It's been a busy last couple weeks. I went on vacation to Universal Studios Orlando with my dad.I'm not really a fan of travelling, I worry too much. Forgetting to pack, losing something important, getting sick... there's way too much to worry about as I've gotten older. I'm also not too crazy about theme parks as I used to be. They're way too crowded. People have no sense of direction or situational awareness, it's frustrating.
Still, it was a great time with my dad. We got to do everything we wanted to do and then some. I got to take pictures at Springfield and Nintendo World (where I bought an embarassing number of plushies). There's some really cool rides at Universal Studios, especially in Epic Universe. It was a great vacation, though I'm happy to be home and not have to travel for a while... until I go back to Orlando with family later this year.
I'm really grateful for my family and to spend time with them though. I love my dad.

I saw Backrooms too. I've never seen the original Youtube series by Kane Pixels, but I have played a ton of Backrooms/liminal space games and Gmod/vrchat maps (all of varying quality). It was a really good movie! The sets were amazing, loved seeing these weird enviroments on the big screen. I like how they interpreted the Backrooms as this sort of entity that swallows and distorts memories. It made me think about how we as humans deal with our pasts, which, not to discredit this movie, is surprising for what's essentially a creepypasta movie.

I was curious about Kane Pixel's other works, so I watched one of his newer series, People Still Live Here. I only watched the first couple videos, and it seems interesting. I was immediately drawn when I learned this was sort of a Petscop type of deal (I loveeeeeeeeeeeee petscop). I liked what I've seen so far! I don't know if he plans on continuing this series since I imagine he's still busy with movie stuff, but please Kane. Make more cool weird early 2000s PC game stuff.

Today I played a game I had on my Steam wishlist called High Above. It's a chill game where you build cool rooftop hangouts. It reminds me of a game I played called Tiny Glade, which is a similar premise but you build tiny castles and villages. I made a neat little rooftop bar. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to get the files for the in-game screenshots, so here's some sloppy ones I took with Alt + PrtScn.
